Lucy Louis

Hi, I’m Lucy

I am a gardener at my core and started Moody Blooms as a way to celebrate and extend my love for flowers. I have a degree in agriculture and am passionate about the conservation and sustainability of our environment. Combining these two parts of me; the gardener and the florist I would like to share this beautiful bridge I have found between what is blooming in the garden and the living art of floral design. I started Moody Blooms in 2021 heavily inspired by nature and what I was able to grow.

Growing, harvesting, and finally creating with flowers has given me the opportunity to see the life of a flower from seed to cut stem. Because of this, I try to showcase in-season flowers in elegant settings. I love using nontraditional flowers and seasonal blooms that feel like an extension of what's going on in the gardens.

Moody Blooms was first a small flower stand set up in a general store. I made seasonal bouquets from what was blooming in my gardens. I love growing flowers and playing with them in floral design was just such a natural progression. My small business has evolved into my dream career. Starting simply as a way for me to enjoy my garden beds has now become an avenue to connect with people and celebrate the seasons of life. Fresh flowers, especially seasonal blooms can be such a beautiful and timely reminder of those huge milestones in our lives. Now I design for larger events, mainly weddings. I continue to garden. I continue to grow and celebrate nature and people.

Unifying creativity and sustainability is our mission. Floral design is the artful celebration of nature and I think doing that in the most sustainable way possible is how we honor nature best.
