About me
“Cultivating flowers from seeds to create living art is such a fulfilling experience for me.”
Hi, I’m Lucy
I have a passion for growing things and quickly gravitated toward floriculture after receiving my degree in Agriculture. So I moved back home to MO and started planting…
Gardening has allowed me to see the beauty in the process. Working so closely with nature keeps me grounded and at peace. Growing, harvesting, and finally creating with flowers has given me the opportunity to see the life of a flower from seed to cut stem. Because of this, I try to incorporate in-season blooms and native Missouri flowers.
I started putting my love for gardening and my curiosity for designing with flowers together in 2021. My first leap of faith was cutting my backyard Zinnias and selling them in my hometown’s general store. I was stunned by the love and support of friends, family and strangers in my community. That same year a sweet friend of mine trusted me with her wedding florals. Getting to be a part of people’s love story is still and always will be such a gift.
There's something primal about creating with flowers. I love being able to take something found in nature and display it in a new and unique way. I have been given so much creative freedom to combine my love for growing things and working with beautiful natural materials at my place of work, Sunflower Hill Farm. Cultivating flowers from seeds to create living art is such a fulfilling experience for me.
I have always had a love for growing things and now getting to extend my knowledge on how we can utilize nature in creative ways brings me so much joy and I am grateful for every person that supports me. You inspire me and allow me to do what I love.
