Laura, Jon and their entire family were as bright and joyful as an October sunflower. I first met Laura and her sister at Sunflower and bonded over our love for the free range chickens roaming about the farm. If you've been to Sunflower you know the flock of free range girls that work tirelessly as "pest management" in the garden beds. Laura loved the rustic yet elegant atmosphere Sunflower provides and I definitely wanted to highlight that in her wedding florals. Using colorful fall foliage from around the property and homegrown Sunflowers were a must-have! I was also able to throw in some cattails from the pond near by. I had so much fun adding in some non-traditional ingredients as a wink to Laura and Jon's love for nature and all things wild. From the branching arbor pieces to her cascading sunflower bouquet, I kept everything really natural and flowing. There is so much beauty when you just let each stem fall, curve, and twist in the direction it wants to go! I hope you can see the beauty in the unforced. Nature is its own designer and I really just wanted it to speak for itself.
