Paul + Taylor

Winter is pretty sparse when it comes to foraging or harvesting from the garden but there is still so much in the winter to be inspired by. I love using native coniferous trees for evergreen foliage and adding pine cones to table-scapes. Paul and Taylor came to me to design something for their arbor. Taylor had specified how she wanted fairy lights and a long flowing white drape cascading from the arbor. I added Weeping Cedar and Bald Cypress branches from the evergreens surrounding Sunflower Hill Farm. There is so much in nature even in December that we can create with and I definitely wanted to showcase the Weeping Cedar in the arbor installation. It’s not often that I feel like a foliage can take the spotlight over a flower face but the flowing and moving branches of the Weeping Cedar along with the moving drapery around the wooden arbor was absolutely breathtaking.
