Spring

There is no better time than spring in the garden. I think every gardener would agree, spring is a magical time full of possibilities, eager sprouts and vibrant fragrant blooms. My all time favorite flower, the Daffodil, is in blooms about mid March. I see this flower as The Trumpet of Spring. It calls out to the rest of the ground to wake up. There is almost a palpable energy in the air come springtime in Missouri. A cheerful time of celebrated patiences. To some it may feel like a new beginning but to the gardener, spring is the ending of their hope that brighter days will come. They have arrived and with such vibrant colors and intoxicating smells.

In spring I like to focus on not only the beautiful blooms but the aromas we’ve missed over the winter months. spring has some of the most fragrant blooms of the year and although it may not be the season associated with lush abundance, it is a time for aromatics. Captivating smells that we try to mimic in perfumes and products. I like to highlight the playfulness of spring with pops of color and an array of fragrant blooms that awaken us come spring.
